The Kerala High Court has asked S. Sasidharan, the lead investigating officer in the special investigation team (SIT) probing the alleged SNDP microfinance scam, to appear before it on August 14.

The official’s presence was ordered after Justice A. Badharudeen expressed grave dissatisfaction over the report on the progress of the investigation.

The SIT head had filed a report stating that out of the 124 cases under investigation, final reports had been filed in 17 cases, and that no irregularities were found in 30 cases.

The court noted that only a progress report had been filed on the investigation, even though the SIT had sought extension of time for a month previously, assuring the court that the probe would be completed by August 10.

The SIT was inquiring into the alleged microfinance scam worth ₹15.85 crore involving Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan.
