    Uttarakhand: 10 killed as tempo traveller falls into gorge on Rishikesh-Badrinath national highway | Dehradun News


    DEHRADUN: At least ten people were killed after a tempo traveller carrying 23 passengers fell into a deep gorge on Rishikesh-Badrinath national highway in Uttarakhand on Saturday.
    “The death toll in the accident in which a tempo traveller fell into a deep gorge near Rudraprayag has now risen to 10. Four seriously injured have been referred to a higher centre while 9 other injured are in the hospital where they are undergoing treatment,” says Karan Singh Nagnyal, IG Garhwal.
    The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police are carrying out rescue operations at the site of the accident.
    According to police, the tempo traveller was coming from Noida (UP) towards Rudraprayag. It fell into a 150-200 metre deep gorge.
    Union home minister Amit Shah expressed grief over the incident and assured all help.

    “The seriously injured passengers in the Rudraprayag road accident are being airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh. Instructions have been given to the concerned officials for better treatment of the injured,” Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami posted on X.
