On March 11, during night time, a drone flew over Telangana Secretatriat. The Secretariat outpost and lawn area were covered during the flight in a security breach.
The incident came to light on Friday. The Telangana Security Protection Force (TSPF) managed to track the people involved in the act. Vamsi, Nagaraju were identified by police.

Security people performing duties at the south east tower of the Secretariat noticed the drone flying near the duty post and lawn area.
Their superiors were informed and a team was formed to trace the drone operators. Eventually, the two persons involved were caught and arrested.

The two were identified as Yetala Vamsi, a camera operator and S Nagaraju, a supervisor with GHMC. The Saifabad police said the case was under investigation.
The reason for flying the drone remains unclear. The police couldn’t say whether it was for private, professional reasons or for other purposes.

Security around government offices has become challenging in recent years due to concerns over aerial surveillance. However, the police say that unauthorized flying of drones over sensitive locations is a serious offence and will lead to strict legal action.
