A Patient Awareness on Prescribed Drugs (PAP-D) Centre was inaugurated on Saturday (March 15) at Room No. 6, OP Block, Government General Hospital (GGH), Guntur, marking a significant milestone in patient education and medication awareness.
The centre was inaugurated by S.S.V. Ramana, hospital superintendent, in the presence of N.V. Sundarachari, principal of Guntur Medical College (GMC). The initiative is the first of its kind in teaching hospitals in Andhra Pradesh.
Dr. Ramana said the centre would enhance public awareness on prescribed medications, their correct use and potential side effects.
Faculty members, postgraduates, interns, pharmacists and Pharm-D students were urged to actively participate in the initiative. The PAP-D Centre aims to bridge the gap between healthcare providers and patients, ensuring informed medication use and improved treatment outcomes.
