Chilean mining technology startup MineWatch raised $900K in a round led by Alza Mining Tech.
Founded in 2022 by José Reyes, MineWatch develops wireless infrastructure that allows mining companies to track workers and equipment in real time without relying on cables or traditional WiFi networks.
The technology uses a mesh network of battery powered wireless nodes that communicate through radio frequency. Each node has a range of up to 250 meters, allowing mining companies to cover kilometers of underground tunnels with fewer infrastructure requirements.
MineWatch will use the funding to expand its commercial team and develop new product features.
MineWatch has 18 employees and generates revenue from customers in Chile, including contractors at the El Teniente mine.
