Former Indian cricketer and member of the Indian senior team selection committee, Mannava Sri Kanth (MSK) Prasad, attended the annual sports day celebrations titled ‘Sports Spectra 2026’, with the theme ‘Sprint to Success’, at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Sri Venkateswara Vidyalaya in Tirupati on Saturday. He also distributed prizes to the students.

Addressing the students and guests, Mr. Prasad emphasised the role of parents in nurturing children with encouragement rather than putting pressure on them. “Every child is unique and should not be compared with others. Instead, they must be encouraged to discover and develop their individual talents. Let us allow them to learn and grow naturally,” he said.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s principal D. Padmaja highlighted the significant role of sports and games in shaping the overall personality of every student. She emphasised that the true reward is not merely the cup or medal a person receives, but the character they build through the journey of striving, perseverance and sportsmanship.

Honorary director and treasurer of the school, N. Satyanarayana Raju, said that Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s is an ideal institution that gives equal importance to academics and games, thereby fostering the holistic development of every child. He urged the students to maintain balance in both success and failure and to face life with courage and composure.
