The public issue of edtech company KlassroomKlassroom Datalabs_in-article-icon ended day one with a subscription of 73%. As per BSE data, the IPO received bids for 12.92 Lakh shares against the 17.58 Lakh shares on offer.

Retail investors continued to show the highest interest in the IPO, with the portion reserved for seeing a 97% subscription. These investors placed bids for 7.93 Lakh shares against the 8.18 Lakh shares reserved for them. 

Meanwhile, interest from Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) was also healthy on the opening day. These investors bid for 3.14 Lakh shares against the 4.64 Lakh shares reserved for them. This translates to 68% subscription of their quota. 

The portion reserved for non institutional investors (NIIs) picked up interest in the later half of the day, where these investors subscribed a mere 39% subscription. These investors placed bids for 1.84 Lakh shares against 4.76 Lakh shares today.

Edtech startup Klassroom’s initial public offering (IPO) saw robust investor demand within hours of opening. 

As of 12:51 IST, investors placed bids for 7.01 Lakh shares against a total offer size of 17.58 Lakh shares on offer, translating to a 40% subscription.

Retail investors have been the most bullish on the company’s public float till now. These investors have already subscribed their quota by 55%, placing bids for 4.46 Lakh shares against 8.17 Lakh shares earmarked for them.

Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) also subscribed to their quota by 47%. These investors have bid for 2.20 Lakh shares against 4.64 Lakh shares reserved for them as of now.

Non institutional investors (NIIs) have shown least interest in the IPO till now. These investors have placed bids for 35,200 shares against 4.76 Lakh shares on offer, translating to a 7% subscription of their quota.

Following the bidding, Klassroom will tentatively make its public markets debut on the BSE SME platform on August 7.

Ahead of the IPO, Klassroom raised ₹11.1 Cr from six anchor investors yesterday (July 30). 

The edtech company’s public issue comprises a fresh issue of up to 19.89 Lakh shares and an offer for sale of up to 4.66 Lakh shares. At the upper end of the price band of ₹151-159, Klassroom is looking to raise ₹39 Cr via the IPO.

The edtech startup will deploy the net proceeds towards tech upgrades, content development, marketing and brand building, and debt repayment. 

On the financial front, Klassroom posted a net profit of ₹7.6 Cr in FY26, marking almost 162% increase from ₹2.9 Cr in FY25. Operating revenue stood at ₹23 Cr in the year under review, up 128% from around ₹10 Cr in the year prior.
