Palnadu District In-charge Collector Sanjana Sinha has ordered the suspension of Konuru village surveyor Kiran Kumar and Village Revenue Officer (VRO) Venkayya of Achampet mandal over allegations of irregularities in the ongoing land resurvey.

The action was announced at a constituency-level review meeting in the Pedakurapadu Assembly constituency on Wednesday (May 20, 2026), which villagers and farmers from Konuru attended.

During the meeting, the villagers told the In-charge Collector that the two officials had allegedly been demanding large sums as bribes for land measurements, alterations in revenue records and other government services. They also alleged that they had been harassed.

Acting on complaints from the affected persons and a preliminary inquiry, Ms. Sinha announced the suspension of the two officials. She also made it clear that negligence or irregularities by officials in the resurvey would be dealt with seriously.
