Ole Gunnar Solskjaer\'s Besiktas pull plug on Kyle Walker-Peters transfer and release furious statement - with defender \'now set for Premier League move\'

Besiktas have dramatically called off a move for Kyle Walker-Peters.

The defender, who is a free agent following his departure from Southampton this summer, had seemed set to join the Turkish club, who are managed by ex-Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. 

Walker-Peters had been invited to Istanbul to undergo a medical but asked for the move to be delayed, which angered Besiktas.

A statement from Besiktas read: \'It is publicly known that the arrival of professional football player Kyle Walker-Peters, with whom we previously announced an agreement in principle and invited him to Istanbul for a medical examination, has been postponed.

\'Today, Kyle Walker-Peters notified us, requesting an extension.

\'Consequently, our club has withdrawn its transfer.

\'Our club continues its transfer efforts in accordance with its established policy. We respectfully inform the public.\' 

Walker-Peters has subsequently been linked with a move to West Ham, who are looking to bring in a replacement for Vladimir Coufal.

If he was to make the switch to West Ham then Walker-Peters would provide an alternative option to Aaron Wan-Bissaka. 

After starting his career at Tottenham, Walker-Peters initially joined Southampton on loan in January 2020 before making the move permanent later that year.

During his time at Southampton he made 202 appearances. 

He was capped twice by England at senior level in 2022. 

Solskjaer was appointed as Besiktas boss in January - so far he has won 12, drawn four and lost six of his 22 games in charge. 

Earlier this month Besiktas signed striker Tammy Abraham on loan from Roma.

Walker-Peters is now being linked with a move to Graham Potter\'s West Ham

They have also brought in Joao Mario, who had a loan spell at West Ham in 2018.
