Known for his acting chops and good looks, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan enjoys a massive fan following in India. Recently, the actor recalled his struggle when he was diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes at the age of 17. During a conversation with a portal, the film \'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil\' actor opened up about his sufferings and the life-long impacts of the disease. While revealing that his body went through an auto-immune response before doctors detected diabetes in him, he said, \'I got a bout of high fever after which I lost around 10 kilos of body weight in eight days, going down from 65kgs to 55kgs.\' Fawad added that he started getting a condition called polyuria, and his mouth used to stay dry despite drinking six-seven litres of water a day. The actor further shared that he underwent blood sugar tests because of the symptoms and got diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes. After knowing about the disease, Fawad was left broken and gave himself a lot of pain, thinking he was the unluckiest person in the world. While disclosing that he has been on insulin for 24 years, the actor admitted that carrying it at all times was a ‘constant inconvenience,’ but he didn’t let diabetes ‘handicap’ him.
