Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra durability test shows how ‘rock-solid’ it is

The Galaxy S23 Ultra has impressed everyone with its performance improvements. In fact, it is the fastest Android smartphone in the world. However, not much has been said about its durability. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, which came out a year ago, was also a solid phone from Samsung, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra seems to have carried the legacy forward.

Last year, we showed you how strong the Galaxy S22 Ultra is built and how it survived bend and scratch tests with ease. This year, a torture test conducted by YouTuber JerryRigEverything shows how rock-solid and rigid the Galaxy S23 Ultra is. It’s worth noting that Samsung used nearly double the amount of recycled and sustainable materials in the device’s construction compared to last year’s model. There are a few important upgrades this year for the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Galaxy S23 Ultra’s frame is really rigid and survives the bend test with flying colors

For starters, the display and the rear of the Galaxy S23 Ultra are protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2. While it may sound like an improvement, the test showed that there isn’t any functional advantage to it as it begins to scratch at a Mohs scale level of 6 with deeper grooves at level 7, which is the same as the previous year’s Galaxy S22 Ultra.

The frame of the Galaxy S23 Ultra is improved and seems resistant to serious damage. The body doesn’t bend, and the screen doesn’t disfigure even after 1 minute of continuous exposure to flame. This is what you expect from a $1,200 phone, but seeing it with your own eyes gives you peace of mind, especially if you have pre-ordered it.

However, putting a case on it won’t hurt and will give extra protection to the phone. Also, the battery replacement on the Galaxy S23 Ultra is a lot easier this time around.
