India has once again come ahead in terms of the number of YouTube videos taken down during the year.
According to a report released by YouTube itself, India topped the charts with over 29 Lakh videos being taken down between October 2024 and December 2024.

The video-sharing platform revealed, “YouTube’s Community Guidelines are enforced consistently across the globe, regardless of where the content is uploaded. When content is removed for violating our guidelines, it is removed globally.”
YouTube also revealed the reasons behind the removal. While over 81.7% of the content was taken down for being spam, harassment and Child safety took the next spots with 6.6% and 5.9% respectively.

This goes on to show how big of a problem scam is in India. Many innocents get caught in scammy videos promising quick money, and end up being conned by scammers.
While this swift action is appreciated, there is still a lot of scam content out there that needs to be removed as soon as possible to ensure the digital safety of the public.
