The updated FZ 25 and the new FZ S 25 street-naked motorcycles are expected to reach dealers in the coming weeks.

Yamaha dealers have started taking bookings for the to-be-launched and updated FZ 25 and the new FZS 25. The bookings amount is set at Rs 5,000 and the amount is refundable. The bikes are expected to reach dealers in the coming weeks.

The BS4-spec FZ 25 is priced from Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and if the hike for the BS6 version is similar to what the R15 and FZ V3.0 have witnessed, we could see the FZ 25 get around Rs 3,000-4,000 more expensive. The FZS 25, meanwhile, will cost around Rs 3,000-4,000 more than the BS6 FZ 25.

Yamaha has managed to tune the bikes to produce nearly the same peak output figures – 20.8hp at 8,000rpm and 20.1Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. For reference, the BS4 bike makes 20.9hp and 20Nm of torque at identical points in the rev range. We’ve also been told that the bike is now 1kg more, weighing in at 153kg (kerb).

Yamaha has also added a new side-stand-down engine inhibitor, a redesigned instrument cluster and belly pan, and a headlight that we hope offers better performance than the one on the outgoing FZ 25. Additionally, the FZS 25 gets knuckle guards as well. The rest of the bike remains largely unchanged, but Yamaha is offering it with a few new colour schemes.
