By India Today Sports Desk: India batter Virat Kohli posted a cryptic Instagram Story ahead of Day 3 of the World Test Championship Final after he was trolled by fans on social media. Kohli was the centre of attention in Day 2 after he was spotted having food in the dressing room with other India squad members. The trolls on social media called Kohli out for his poor return in the first innings and tried to insinuate that he was unserious about the summit clash between India and Australia.
Kohli was dismissed for 14 by Mitchell Starc on Day 2 of the WTC Final. A jaffa from Starc caught Kohli by surprise and the outside edge from his bat was caught by Steve Smith at the second slip. Kohli faced hate from a section of fans in social media after that.
Kohli took to Instagram ahead of the day’s play on Day 3 and shared a cryptic message aimed at the trolls. The message said that one must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free themselves.
“You must develop the ability to be disliked in order to free yourseld from the prison of other peoples’ opinions,” the full message read.
India were left in a precarious position at Day 2 when they lost four wickets for 71 runs. Ravindra Jadeja and Ajinkya Rahane provided some stability to the line-up and stitched a 71-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Jadeja was the last one to depart, off the bowling of Nathan Lyon. KS Bharat and Ajinkya Rahane helped India finish the day without further damage.
India will need to pull a rabbit out of the hat to take lead against Australia in the first innings of the game. India are still 318 runs behind and have 5 wickets in hand.
