The industry of Bollywood, once known for its highly successful and glamorous Eid releases, has failed to recreate the charm over the last eight years.
Even Salman Khan, the superstar known for his Eid releases, had to face back-to-back disasters like ‘Tubelight’ (2017), ‘Race 3’ (2018), ‘Bharat’ (2019), ‘Radhe’ (2021), and ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ (2023), struggling to meet even basic box office expectations.

The Eid curse carried itself on to 2024 as well, thanks to films like ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyaan’ and ‘Maidaan’ showing very poor performances at the BO.
The responsibility to break the curse depends solely on Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ in 2025. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film appears to be Salman’s attempt to regain his lost momentum as a star.

Although preparations for ‘Sikandar’ are in full swing, social media seems to be divided on the film’s ability.
One user said, “Salman Khan is the King of Eid releases, and Sikandar will prove it again. Bhai in beast mode – this one’s going to be a blockbuster!”

Another commented, “With so many flops in the past, it’s hard to believe Sikandar will do any different. The Eid magic is long gone.”
Even with the internet as divided as ever on the matter, many are hopeful for the film to deliver a strong performance, not only for Salman but also to restore the lost charm of mega-successful Eid releases by breaking the curse.
