Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, was released in theatres on October 10th and ended up as an average one after mixed responses from audiences and critics.
Vettaiyan was made with a budget of 300 crores, and by yesterday Vettaiyan had collected 207 crores worldwide, and also now the occupancy of audiences in theatres was reduced after the first weekend.

By considering the overall budget and the theatrical collection, Lyca Productions may acquire a total of 80 crores in hands after the theatrical run, by reducing the tax percentage by 20% and the theatre owners’ share.
Theatrical run-wise Vettaiyan is a disaster, but by selling the other satellite, OTT, and audio rights. Production may have acquired the breakeven, which is also not a good thing as there isn’t any profit for them.

In this scenario, Lyca Productions have asked Rajinikanth to do another movie for them as compensation, as previously 2.0, Darbar, and Lal Salaam were also a loss venture for them while Collaborating with Super Star and Vettaiyan is also a non-profit one.
Also, Lyca Productions has asked Rajinikanth to reduce his salary during their next collaboration; let us see whether this collaboration happens again for the next movie.
