Atlee’s debut as a producer, the Bollywood movie Baby John starring Varun Dhawan in the lead role, is set to be released on December 25th.
With only a few days left until the release, the movie is facing an issue in acquiring theatres in North India, as many theatre owners and distributors are not interested in screening Baby John.

Following this, many popular social media critics and trade analysts shared tweets and posts about the theatre issue, mentioning that it is unfair. They pointed out that Atlee had delivered the all-time blockbuster Jawan, yet screens were not allocated for his new movie.
According to reports, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, which was released on December 5th, is still dominating theatres in North India. Due to this, many theatres are reluctant to allocate screens for Baby John.

On social media, many commented that Atlee is producing a remake of his old movie, Theri, which many have already watched multiple times on television. Additionally, the Hindi-dubbed version of Theri is available on YouTube.
They questioned how Atlee expects an old remake to become a blockbuster. With theatres not allocating screens, he is reportedly attempting a PR stunt, playing the sympathy card with social media personalities by emphasizing his success with Jawan and the lack of screens for his movie.

Atlee also added Salman Khan in a cameo role to create hype, but audiences remain uninterested, commenting that Salman’s cameos in previous movies were disappointing, except in Pathaan.
Meanwhile, Pushpa 2 continues to dominate North Indian theatres even after three weeks, which is remarkable.
It remains to be seen whether Atlee’s PR stunt will work and whether Baby John will acquire screens in North India.
