The Telugu film industry received a big blow due to the decision of the Telangana government not to grant any benefit shows or ticket hikes for upcoming films.
This decision came in the wake of the death of a woman in the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident that occurred during the benefit show of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2.

The first movie to be affected by this move is Ram Charan’s Game Changer, which is slated for release on January 10. The film’s producer, Dil Raju, also happens to be the chairman of the Telugu Film Development Corporation. So, it remains to be seen if he can secure a ticket hike or if the government will stand firm on its decision.
Meanwhile, Dil Raju seems to be trying to get the hike approved at least in Andhra Pradesh. Today, he met AP Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan in Mangalagiri to invite him to the pre-release event of Game Changer. The event will be held either on January 4th or 5th, depending on Pawan’s availability.

Sources also claim that Dil Raju discussed the ticket hike issue with Pawan Kalyan during this meeting.
In the past, while the BRS government allowed ticket hikes in Telangana, the AP government, under the rule of former CM YS Jagan, did not permit hikes for many big films.

Now, it remains to be seen if the AP government will allow the hike or take a similar stand to the Telangana government.
