Thangalaan, starring Vikram in the lead and directed by Pa Ranjith, was released in theatres on August 15th and has acquired mixed responses from both critics and audiences.

This movie came out with lots of expectations, as the team promoted this movie as a movie based on the struggles of people who worked in the Kolar Gold Fields 160 years ago.
But the movie failed as the struggles of the people were not shown in the proper way, and there were also lots of lags in the screenplay of this movie, which felt audiences too bored in the second half of this movie.

Even though the movie has acquired mixed responses, Vikram’s acting was highly appreciated by the audiences, while many have commented on Ranjith’s narration, which wasn’t connected to the normal audiences.
Now this movie is all set for an OTT release on Netflix from September 20th and also in 4 languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Whether this movie surprises in OTT as many movies that were average ones in theatres was a tremendous success in OTT. Will Thangalaan get some appreciation, at least from the OTT audience, and Vikram’s performance in this movie will get its accreditation after it’s OTT release?
