The MLC elections in Andhra Pradesh will be held on February 28. The results will be announced on March 3rd.
The Opposition is not contesting this election fearing defeat. TDP is contesting the Graduates’ MLC Elections but is only supporting APTF candidate Pakalapati Raghu Varma in the Teachers’ MLC Election.

Two seats are up for grabs in the MLC Graduates Quota. One is the Godavari districts seat and the other is the Krishna and Guntur district seat.
In these four districts, TDP and its allies have registered sensational victories in the recent elections. The majorities of the winners are scary for the Opposition.

So, even though there is no Opposition in these elections, the results can still give an idea about the mood of the people towards the Government.
But then, the Group II Mains issue came out of the syllabus.

Last night, we saw the aspirants hitting the streets and protesting against the Government.
Some of the candidates were even giving threats to the Government.
They are the voters of this election and so, it will be interesting to see if they can force a result that is negative to the Government.
While refusing to cancel the exam, the APPSC said that the protestors were actually the ones who did not qualify for the main exam and the actual aspirants were not involved.
The Commission said they are protesting to cancel the notification altogether so that they can give another shot when the fresh notification comes. The APPSC also says that the Coaching Centers Mafia is also pushing for the postponement for their benefit.
If that is true, then, their impact on the Graduates MLC Election will be minimal.
TDP Senior Leader Alapati Raja is the TDP candidate for the Krishna Guntur MLC Election. Raja sacrificed his Tenali seat for Nadendla Manohar as a part of an alliance with Janasena. But then, there are rumors that another Senior Leader Dhulipalla Narendra is working against him considering their past rivalry.
Perabathula Rajasekhar is the candidate for the Godavari districts MLC election. This should be an easy seat considering the alliance of TDP and Janasena.
