2024 turned out to be a year full of poor Box Office performances for Bollywood. While many small-scale films like Munjya, Shaitaan, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 did manage to be counted as hits, the industry did not see anything like a 1000-crore blockbuster this year.
The only big name close to achieving ‘blockbuster’ status was ‘Stree 2’, a sequel-gone-right for ‘Maddock Films’ that strengthened its reputation among critics and the public alike.

With this year ending in disappointment, a sneak peek at the offerings of 2025 does provide some hope. 2025 is all set to gift three major films to the audience — Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sky Force’, Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Deva’, and Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’.
All these films are set to release in the initial months of the next year. ‘Sky Force’ will be the first, releasing on 24th January, being followed by ‘Deva’ (31st January).

Chhaava will be the last of the trio, marking its grand release on 14th February, with Vicky Kaushal supposedly in his life’s best role, portraying Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
Akshay’s Sky Force is being produced under the banner of ‘Maddock Films’, which seems to be going through its golden phase, churning out hits like ‘Stree 2’ and ‘Munjya’. The reputation they have built for themselves ignites hope for Sky Force to turn out well.

Shahid Kapoor’s Deva is also creating a lot of buzz, with speculations of it being a high-octane action-thriller. Directed by Rosshan Andrrews, the film co-stars Pooja Hegde alongside Shahid.
With many claims of it being a remake, the public is eager to see how the makers turn this aspect in their favour.
Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ (Maddock Films) is also expected to break records, depending on its ability to tap into people’s nationalistic sentiments. The casting of Rashmika Mandanna seems to be another positive, with the stars aligning in her favour lately.
If these three films can stand their ground, they’ll give a massive headstart to Bollywood, fulfilling its ambition to be back with a bang.
