Just a day after a shocking attack on US-based NRI Sukhchain Singh in Amritsar, police have arrested five people linked to the crime, which they revealed was orchestrated from the US.
The plot, fueled by a bitter family dispute, involved Sukhchain’s first wife’s family, who reportedly hired attackers to shoot him. His first father-in-law and other accomplices, who assisted in planning and executing the attack, were arrested.

The attack occurred during Sukhchain’s morning walk when two assailants held him at gunpoint, demanding documents for his Mercedes. When he resisted, they shot him twice.
The terrifying incident was captured on CCTV, with footage showing his children pleading for mercy.

This feud goes back to 2022 when Sukhchain’s first wife tragically died by suicide, leading to legal battles between the families.
Police said the attackers were paid by the victim’s ex-wife’s family in the US to carry out the hit, making this an international conspiracy rooted in revenge.
