Vijay Deverakonda has taken a complete detour from commercial cinema. The fact that he has set up three back to back content-driven films clearly implies the same.

The discussion now is about Vijay’s ongoing VD12 which has been in the making for a while now. The makers are holding back the promotional content as well, despite the pressure from fans who are seeking some sort of an update.
The hard facts pertaining to the film are that it is nearing the completion of the shoot. Some 30 days shooting is reportedly left and it is scheduled to be wrapped by the end of the year.

Once the shoot is wrapped and the post production is done, there could be an affirmative call on whether to release the film on March 28, as announced or take it back a bit and find the next best date.
As for the promotional material, the makers are apparently intentionally holding it back with a preset plan. Sithara Entertainments intends to complete the release of Daaku Maharaj and then take up VD12.

There’s a chance that an update, presumably the title poster that could be released this month, but this is subject to change. Either way, the promotions are bound to be kickstarted from this coming January at any cost. The promotions will be uniform, through till the day of release.
Anirudh is composing the music for the film and this could be the reason behind the delay, at whatever degree, considering his tight schedule. But the internal talk is that the team is holding back with a plan and intend to implement the scheme of action once favorable conditions emerge.
Once Vijay is done with this actioner, he will swiftly move on to the film with Rahul Sankrityan, it seems.
