Mohan Babu had attacked a Reporter of TV9 with a mike and he suffered some injuries. Some say the reporter barged into Mohan Babu’s Private Property and poked into Mohan Babu’s family issues, so he deserves it.
Others say, there is no space for physical violence and the reporters were just doing their duty.

Not digging into the good and bad of the incident, let us go into the next part. Journalists have staged a protest in Filmnagar demanding action on Mohan Babu and an unconditional apology.
We have seen TV9 Rajinikanth sitting in the Dharna. Some arm-chair senior journalists like Allam Narayana and Devulapalli Amar also sat in the Dharna.

Allam Narayana and Amar supporting TV9 is not anything new. Amar is with the YSR Congress and Allam Narayana is with BRS. TV9 is protecting those parties and they chose to support TV9.
What surprises more is the participation of Journalists belonging to TV5, ABN, and Eenadu in this Dharna.

In the last five years, there was a direct attack on Eenadu, ABN, and TV5 from Jagan Mohan Reddy to every Chota Mota leader of the YSR Congress. Jagan used to abuse these Channels in every speech. There was an attack on Ramoji Rao and his Businesses by the then Government.
At the ground level, there were some attacks on the Reporters of these channels.
Former YSR Congress MLA Dadisetti Raja was named in the murder of K Satyanarayana, a reporter of Andhrajyothy. But then, neither TV9 nor these Senior journalists came forward and condemned it.
A Journalist of Maha News was attacked in Hyderabad in 2019. He alleged the role of the then YSRCP Rayadurg MLA Kapu Ramachandra Reddy in that attack. There were several such incidents in the last five years.
There was an unofficial ban on ABN and TV5 in Andhra Pradesh in the last five years. But there were no protests to save the freedom of the Press.
Interestingly, Devulapalli Amar was the National Media Advisor to the AP Government when these atrocities happened in a few media houses. But he did not respond.
Now, why should TV5, ABN, and Eenadu participate in a protest demanding justice for a TV9 Reporter?
They can say the security of Mohan Babu vandalized their cameras and pushed them. However, the public sees the issue predominantly as Mohan Babu Vs TV9.
If they were also affected, they should have protested in a different form and on a different stage.
If they say they fought for individual journalists, not for the Channels, there were attacks on individuals as well but there were no protests then.
It can not be like Freedom of the Press applies when Sakshi and TV9 need it and is conveniently forgotten when the others are affected.
