Who will moderate the first Trump and Harris presidential debate on September 10; see details



The first one-on-one encounter between Former President Donald Trump and his rival Vice President Kamala Harris will be on September 10, as announced by ABC News earlier last week, the 90-minute showdown is expected to be held in Philadelphia.
In a statement the news agency said: “ABC News will host qualifying presidential candidates to debate on September 10 on ABC.Vice President Harris and former President Trump have both confirmed they will attend the ABC debate.”
Who will moderate the presidential showdown
ABC anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis will moderate the September 10 debate. Although the exact format and ground rules are still being finalised, it is likely that the event will proceed without a live audience.
President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden were scheduled to have their second and final debate on the same day, prior to Trump’s decision to withdraw from the race, ABC News said, the USA Today reported.
Who is David Muir
David Muir, the anchor of “World News Tonight,” who has been with ABC since 2003, will be moderating the event.
Muir is well-known by both Democrats and Republicans, interviewed Biden during D-Day coverage and conducted Trump’s first White House interview as president in 2017. Muir also has experience moderating presidential primary debates in 2016 and 2020.
Who is Linsey Davis
Joining Muir will be Linsey Davis, the anchor of “ABC News Live Prime,” who has been with the network since 2007. Davis has moderated presidential debates in 2019 and 2020, and has covered both the Democratic National Convention and Republican National Convention, the USA Today reported.
Trump had earlier proposed three debates with major networks – September 4 with Fox News, September 10 with NBC, and September 25 with ABC. However, Harris has agreed to participate only in the September 10 debate with NBC, although she has not yet provided reasons for declining the other proposed dates.
