WhatsApp may soon let you turn Hindi voice notes into text, report says – Technology News

WhatsApp is reportedly gearing up to launch a new feature that will enable users to convert Hindi voice notes into text. The new anticipated feature is part of WhatsApp’s broader initiative to enhance user experience by offering language transcription capabilities across multiple languages, including Hindi.

According to WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp is set to introduce a dedicated section where users can convert voice notes into text in five languages: English, Hindi, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Spanish. This development aims to cater to diverse linguistic preferences and improve accessibility for users who prefer reading text over listening to audio messages.

An update found in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.13.8, available on the Google Play Store shows WhatsApp is working on a new feature that allows users to change the language of voice transcripts. This update, expected in a future app update, will allow users to select from languages like English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Hindi. Users will need to download a language package to enable this feature, ensuring that transcripts are processed locally on their device for privacy and security.
