But all of that might soon change, with a recent report by WABetaInfo suggesting that WhatsApp developers are working on a new sticker maker tool. The upcoming feature will let users convert an image to a sticker. It uses iOS 16 APIs to extract a subject from an image and automatically convert it into a sticker.
The ‘New Sticker’ option is located within the chat share action sheet and will allow users to choose an image from their library and convert it into a sticker. This is really handy since users will no longer have to download and rely on third-party apps if they want to use new stickers.
The sticker maker tool is currently available for those on WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.10.0.74, but it is still unclear if and when the functionality will make it to the stable version of the app.
Earlier this month, WhatsApp rolled out a privacy-focused feature that lets users lock specified chats and report inappropriate messages on group chats and silence calls from unknown numbers.
