‘Grotesquerie’ director Ryan Murphy has revealed Taylor Swift was ‘very supportive’ of Travis Kelce‘s move into acting.
When asked if Swift had given her NFL boyfriend any advice before he started work on his biggest acting role to date, Murphy gave fans a brief insight.
‘The only thing that [Travis and I] talked about was that she’s very supportive of him, and if he has an interest, she wanted him to try it,’ he told E! News at the premiere of the show.
‘I was thrilled about that.’ He added he only heard ‘sweet, lovely things’ about the pop singer, before revealing ‘I love her, too.’
The Kansas City Chiefs star has a role in the horror fiction ‘Grotesquerie’ alongside Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, Lesley Manville, Micaela Diamond, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, and Raven Goodwin.
Ryan Murphy has revealed what Taylor Swift told Travis Kelce before he made his acting debut
Murphy wrote the part in his FX show ‘Grotesquerie’ specifically for Kelce, he revealed
It remains to be seen what part he plays, however, after Kelce failed to make an appearance in the first two episodes on Wednesday night.
A number of fans, including his brother Jason, tuned into the show to watch Kelce make his acting debut, only to be left disappointed when he was nowhere to be seen across two hour-long episodes.
Kelce does seem set to feature in the next two Grotesquerie instalments, however, after popping up twice in the teaser trailer for episodes three and four.
Two of Kelce’s lines in the show were heard in the teaser for next week’s episode, with the Chiefs tight end first heard eerily saying: ‘You’re gonna regret it.’
He then says to another character in a more light-hearted manner: ‘Want me to plug in the night light so you’re not scared in the dark?’

Kelce’s brother Jason joked that he will not be pleased if he turns out to be playing the role of a monstrous serial killer in the show
The football legend’s acting debut comes amid his underwhelming start to the season with the Chiefs, which has led to question marks over his future in the NFL.
During the premiere episodes on Wednesday night, Kelce’s brother Jason has joked he will be ‘real p****d’ if his sibling is revealed to have committed a monstrous crime in the show.
Fans have already been left wincing at Grotesquerie’s incredibly gory and gruesome nature.
The first episode focuses on Detective Lois Tryon (Niecy Nash-Betts) and her search for a serial killer accused of sickening crimes – such as ‘boiling’ a young baby.
In light of that disturbing revelation, Jason admitted he will not be best pleased if Travis’ character turns out to be the serial killer in question.
The Philadelphia Eagles legend posted during Wednesday night’s premiere: ‘If Travis boiled a baby, I’m gonna be real p****d #Grotesquerie’.
