But the Government is very keen as monetizing this land is very important to fund the freebies that are promised. So, Revanth Reddy is not relenting.

The Supreme Court has interfered in the issue and in all probability, the Apex Court will save one of the last available lung spaces of the city.

Later, the then united Andhra Pradesh government in 1998 went to the central government with proof of wildlife species and got approval to take over the land.
The Supreme Court ensured that an equivalent amount of land was given to the Nizam’s family elsewhere as compensation.
The Chiran Palace is still present inside the KBR park premises.
In exchange for Chiran Palace and sixteen other pieces of his property scattered over the national park, Prince Mukkram Jah got six acres of land on the north-west corner of the park, near the Jubilee Hills police check post.
It was declared a National Park to ensure the protected species of flora and fauna were taken care of by the government. In 2020, it was declared an “Eco-sensitive” zone.
Even today, only a part of the KBR Park is accessible to the Public, and that too only for a few hours of the day to maintain the peace inside.
In 2021, the then KCR Government announced an Eight Flyovers Project to ease traffic around KBR Park.
As the project involves axing of many trees,s which will lead to the destruction of the Park, many environmental lovers have started the ‘Save KBR’ campaign. They approached the National Green Tribunal and the Supreme Court against the proposal.
The Union Ministry of Environment and Forest recently cleared the Project and allowed to reduction of the walkway around the KBR Park, which will allow the construction of these Flyovers.
Revanth Reddy Government expedited the works and recently, the GHMC authorities have been asked to move the project forward. The land acquisition is on for the project. It is a big challenge because the stretch has high-profile properties owned by VIPs, political leaders, and film personalities.
We will have to see how the KBR Park Ecosystem changes after this project because it will cause so much dust and noise in the Park.
