What Are the Chances of H1-B Being Scrapped?

M9 News has been actively reporting on the MAGA movement’s opposition to H-1Bs, particularly targeting the Indian community in the US.

Hatred toward H-1Bs and Indians on these visas has reached its peak. A group of Americans has taken things to an extreme, engaging in racism and unethical activities to express their dissatisfaction with the H-1B program.

The short answer is no.

While the H-1B program has its flaws and is in need of significant reform, scrapping it entirely is highly unlikely.

It remains one of the most successful and impactful immigration policies in the United States, providing the country with an exceptionally talented workforce.

The immense contributions made by H-1B visa holders have significantly benefited the U.S., even if the opponents of the program fail to acknowledge this.

Even if a group of influential politicians pushes to eliminate the program, it is not feasible. The opposition is largely driven by the MAGA movement, primarily supported by Republicans.

However, achieving the majority required in Congress to dismantle a program as critical as H-1B is highly unlikely. Politically and legally, such an action would be nearly impossible.

Even if Trump attempted to scrap the H-1B system, corporate pressure from major companies that rely on the talent pool brought in by H-1B workers would prevent such measures from succeeding.

In summary, scrapping the H-1B program would be both impractical and detrimental to the U.S. economy. The program is here to stay, despite the opposition it faces.
