Wayanad district emerged champions for the second consecutive time scoring 47 points at the sixth State-level BUDS Kalolsavam Thillana that concluded here on Friday. Thiruvananthapuram district secured the second position with 27 points, followed by Thrissur district with 25 points.
Although Thiruvananthapuram was leading on the first day, Wayanad overtook them in the evening itself and maintained a clear lead until the final moment. The Wayanad district team returned with the excitement of successfully retaining the championship title they had won the previous year. Minister for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development J. Chinchurani, who inaugurated the closing ceremony, distributed prizes to the winning districts.
Wayanad district, the champions, received a trophy and a cash prize of ₹5 lakh. Thiruvananthapuram district, the runner-up, received a trophy and a cash prize of ₹3 lakh and Thrissur districtreceived a trophy and a cash prize of ₹2 lakh.

The Minister said that the arts fete has become a platform for diverse arts and is an example of the government’s far-sighted initiatives to nurture the artistic abilities of differently abled children.
