Watch live: Sven-Goran Eriksson’s funeral takes place as David Beckham joins mourners

Watch live as Sven-Goran Eriksson‘s funeral takes place, with David Beckham amongst mourners, in his hometown in Sweden on Friday, 13 September.

The former England football boss, who became the first foreign manager to lead the team, died aged 76 on 26 August surrounded by his family following a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

In January, he shared that he was approaching the end of his life and would have a year left to live in a “best case” scenario.

Eriksson is being laid to rest at Fryksände Church in Torsby.

His family permitted his final column to be published ahead of the ceremony.

Writing for the Daily Telegraph earlier this summer, Eriksson described accepting the England job as “one of the happiest days” of his life.

He also admitted he would have retired if he had clinched World Cup success, and tipped England for future tournament success.

Eriksson said goodbye to his fans with a heartbreaking final message before his death.

“I had a good life,” Eriksson remarked in an Amazon Prime documentary about his life
