The images portraying the aftermath of a suspected drone attack on the merchant ship MV Chem Pluto reveal extensive damage, prompting the Indian Navy to conduct a thorough assessment. The inspection, carried out by the Indian Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, aims to determine the type and nature of the attack. Simultaneously, an investigation is underway to understand the execution of the assault in the Arabian Sea. In response to this security breach, Indian Navy warships are set to intensify patrolling efforts in the region.MV Chem Pluto, a Chemical/Oil Tanker flying the Liberian flag and carrying 21 Indians and 1 Vietnamese crew, fell victim to the suspected drone attack on December 23. The United States alleges Iranian involvement in the incident, a claim that Tehran vehemently rejects as ‘baseless.’ Despite the challenges posed by the attack, the ship reached Mumbai safely and anchored at Outer Anchorage off Mumbai on December 25th, marking a significant step in the ongoing response and investigation.
