Deepika Padukone and Anisha Padukone pray at the Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh
This Thursday, Deepika Padukone, accompanied by her sister Anisha Padukone, visited the Tirumala temple to offer their prayers to Lord Venkateswara. Accompanied by robust security, the sisters made a brief yet solemn visit to the sacred site. Before stepping onto the temple grounds, they chose to walk barefoot – a humble gesture before the divine deity. Keeping it simple and comfortable, both sisters wore pullovers with leggings. Deepika opted for an all-black ensemble, while Anisha chose a combination of orange and black for her attire.
Take a look:
Nestled in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, Tirupati is renowned for hosting the revered Lord Venkateshwara Temple, standing as a prominent pilgrimage destination globally. Known interchangeably as Tirumala Temple, Tirupati Temple, and Tirupati Balaji Temple, it claims a position among the world’s most affluent religious sanctuaries.
Perched atop Tirumala, one of the seven hills that grace Tirupati, the primary temple is believed to be the manifestation site of Lord Venkateshwara in the form of an idol. This sacred abode is dedicated to the worship of the deity Govinda. With its roots tracing back to ancient times, Tirupati holds significance in numerous venerable Vedas and Puranas, solidifying its place as a city steeped in spiritual history.
The Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani star is more than just an occasional visitor to the temple; she’s a steadfast devotee. Whether it’s celebrating her father’s birthday, marking a wedding anniversary, launching a new movie, or just seeking blessings, she makes regular and meaningful trips to Tirumala. Let’s take a look at her visits to Tirumala over the past few years:
