Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy got relief in the ‘Vote For Note’ case that happened in 2015. The Supreme Court dismissed the petition of BRS MLA Jagadeesh Reddy, requesting to shift the case’s trial to Bhopal.
The bench, headed by Justice B.R. Gavai, stated that as there are suspicions around the process of this case’s trial, a special prosecutor would be appointed.

Jagadish Reddy’s lawyer argued that Revanth is currently serving as the CM of Telangana and also the Home Affairs Minister under which this case trial is being conducted by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
The lawyer further stated that Revanth Reddy threatened police officials a few times during his rallies in Mahbubnagar district in the past.

He said that the counter affidavit filed by the government has also been changed after Revanth Reddy became the CM. He further requested the case to be shifted to Bhopal.
After hearing the argument, Justice Gavai’s bench stated that the case’s trial can’t be shifted based on these assumptions and shifting it would indirectly suggest that there is no faith in the legal system.

The bench stated that it has complete faith in the legal system and decided to appoint a special prosecutor for the case’s trial. Saying this, the bench dismissed Jagadeesh Reddy’s petition.
