Volkswagen Indian has finally revealed the prices of its special edition variants of Taigun and Virtus. Called as the GT Edge collection, the prices starts at Rs 16.79 lakh, ex-shworoom. With the introduction of the new variants, the GT badge has now become more accessible to the customers.
The Volkswagen Virtus GT Edge now comes with 6-speed manual and gets an introductory price of Rs 16.89 lakh, ex-showroom. The Taigun GT Edge comes with two new variants – GT Plus MT priced at Rs 16.79 lakh and GT DSG priced at Rs 17.77 lakh, ex-showroom. With the introduction of the new variants, VW now offers a total of 9 variants with the Taigun including the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI EVO engine options.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said,

With its strong legacy of fun-to-drive, the GT badge was introduced on the Performance Line (1.5l TSI EVO engine) variants of the Taigun & Virtus. Today, we are taking a step further and democratizing the GT badge by introducing newer variants for customers to choose from.”
Introducing the GT Edge Limited Collection, a range of high-performance vehicles available in new and exciting options. This collection includes the Virtus GT Plus DSG and GT Plus manual models, both featuring a stunning Deep Black Pearl exterior body color. Additionally, the Taigun GT Plus DSG and GT Plus manual models are available in the striking Deep Black Pearl and Carbon Steel Grey Matte finish exterior body colors. Experience the thrill of unlimited performance with these exceptional vehicles.
The Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus offer a choice of two petrol engines. The first option is the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, delivering 115 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter. The second option is the 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine, generating 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. It is available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DSG gearbox. With these engine choices, both vehicles offer a range of powertrain options to suit different preferences.
These special edition variants will be rolled out of the factory on the basis of demands and bookings. Interested customers can book the variants on the official website of Volkswagen. The official delivery will start from July 2023.
