‘Voldemort should have challenged Harry Potter to an arm wrestling match,’ fans say after Ralph Fiennes’ stunning transformation pics | Hollywood News

For some, age is just a number and English actor Ralph Fiennes is one of them. Even at 62, he has not taken a step back from physical fitness and, if anything, has only intensified his efforts in recent years to stay in shape. Recently, Fiennes, most popular for his role as Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter film series, took to social media to offer glimpses of his current, chiselled physique that oozes a Greek god aura. The photos, as expected, have been widely shared, with many praising his look and dedication to maintaining his body even now.

The photos, clicked by the actor’s personal trainer Dan Avasilcai, feature him flexing his upper body muscles and tattoos. He can also be seen sporting a slightly long beard and a shining smile in the images. Interestingly, the look is from his recent period drama The Return, helmed by Uberto Pasolini. An adaptation of Homer’s Greek epic Odyssey, the movie features Fiennes as Odysseus, the legendary king of Ithaca.

While one Twitterati called him “the perfect man”, another user wrote in the comment section on X (formerly Twitter), “Voldemort should have just challenged Harry to an arm wrestling match.” A third netizen wrote in jest, “Congratulations… Wish he’d train me maybe he’d improve my self esteem and confidence (sic).”

Recipient of several prestigious accolades and three Academy Award nominations, Fiennes rose to fame with his performances in movies such as Schindler’s List (1993), The English Patient (1996), Maid in Manhattan (2002), The Reader (2008), The Hurt Locker (2009), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), Hail, Caesar! (2016) and The Menu (2022). His most recent film, Conclave, was also well-received, with his performance earning widespread recognition.

In Pasolini’s The Return, while Juliette Binoche appears as Penelope, the queen of Ithaca and Odysseus’ wife, Charlie Plummer plays the role of Telemachus, the son of Odysseus and Penelope. Following its theatrical release in the US in December last year, The Return had a wider worldwide release earlier this month.

Christopher Nolan is also working on his adaptation of Odyssey which stars Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, among others.
