Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who is one of the frontrunners in the Republican Party for the US presidential race, congratulated the tennis star Novak Djokovic, who won the Cincinnati Open title. Ramaswamy said it was “awesome to watch” Djokovic’s victory in his hometown and added that it was a “shame on our country” for not allowing him to come to the country for US Open in 2022.

“Awesome to watch Novak Djokovic win a battle in my hometown of Cincinnati last night. Shame on our country for keeping you out last year. But you can only stop a champ for so long,” Ramaswamy tweeted on Monday.

On Sunday, Djokovic beat the world number one, Carlos Alcaraz, and won the Cincinnati Open title. The 23-time Grand Slam champion said it was “the toughest match” he has ever played in his life.

The Serbian tennis star could not participate in the 2022 US Open due to his refusal to get the Covid-19 vaccine.

Meanwhile, Ramaswamy also posted a video on X showing him playing tennis and wrote, “Three hours of solid [presidential] debate prep this morning.”

Ramaswamy, the 38-year-old Indian-American entrepreneur who was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Indian immigrant parents, is a candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the United States in the 2024 election.
