Romance films haven’t had much luck this year so far. Whether it’s Loveyapa or Nadaaniyan, audiences haven’t connected with or even appreciated any of the romcoms released so far.

Typically, romcoms are seen as safer bets on OTT platforms and provide a more secure space for rising actors to showcase their work. Newcomer nepo kids like Ananya Panday and Khushi Kapoor have mostly opted for OTT releases.
Kesari 2 was Ananya’s first theatrical release, while Khushi’s projects so far have only found a home on streaming platforms.
However, it’s a bold move for Shanaya Kapoor to debut with a theatrical release, especially at a time when romcoms have struggled to resonate with Indian audiences.
Will Shanaya’s decision help her stand out and make her mark? Or is it a risky move for a debut film? That remains to be seen.
