The city of Vijayawada, generally known for its hot and humid climate, has been hit hard by heavy rainfall over the past couple of days. The city recorded an unprecedented 29 cm of rainfall, the highest in the last 30 years.
This two-day incessant rainfall resulted in widespread water-logging across various parts of the city, with some areas experiencing water levels as high as 4 feet.

The severe waterlogging has made transportation within the city troublesome, particularly between Auto Nagar and Benz Circle.
Water came onto the highway near Kandringa, located on the outskirts of Vijayawada. As a result, transportation between Vijayawada and Nuzivedu becoming increasingly difficult for people.

Areas such as Singh Nagar, Pipe Road, Sundarayya Nagar, Rajendranagar, and Kandringa are flooded with water. In the Nunna area, the Fire Department staff quarters were completely submerged.
Meanwhile, buses near the railway track underpass were submerged and later, officials had to lift them up with the help of cranes.

Even bus stations were flooded with water and so was the National Highway between Vijayawada and Hyderabad. As a result, bus services were temporarily suspended between the two cities.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu assessed the situation and instructed officials to take immediate relief and rescue measures.
