Vettaiyan is different from the usual Rajinikanth movie as, more than a hero-based mass masala movie, Vettaiyan is more content-oriented, and Rajinikanth is seen in a classy performance in the content-oriented action drama.

As usual, Rajinikanth scored big with his powerful screen presence, but it was also the major reason for the mixed responses as TJ Gnanavel failed to combine the mass scenes and content, and it ended up as a major minus, says the Tamil audience.
Overall, it seems the first half of this movie was perfect with the blend of Rajinikanth’s mass moments and investigative narratives. While the second half seems to be dull and dips in many places.
These were the common responses from the audiences and critics, as mostly the general audiences will come to theatres only after the first day. Let us see whether Vettaiyan satisfies the expectations of the general audience and scores big.
