The Vettaiyan movie was based on encounters and the educational scam of popular corporate companies. The director of this movie, TJ Gnanavel, tries to bring the serious problem into the limelight with Rajinikanth.

In this movie, a rape scene of Dushara Vijayan is shown, which was felt disturbed by many audiences. Also, many have shared their criticisms on social media for this.
The sex assault scene of Dushara Vijayan was shown in close-up shots, and the makers of this movie were trying to make the viewers emotional and connect to the victims’ point of view.

This was not a good thing, say the audiences and critics, as showing this in an A-rated movie will be accepted, but a movie with a UA certificate should not be shown this much of a gruesome rape scene on the big screen.
Those scenes were felt only disturbed by the audiences, and not even the emotional connection worked well. Vettaiyan is a half-baked movie without a proper screenplay and emotional connection, say the audiences and critics.
