JP Dutta is ready to bring back the patriotic tale of brave Indian soldiers in a second instalment to Border released in 1997. This film will bring back Sunny Deol to the franchise and it is set to release on the Republic Day of 2026. Although this time JP Dutta is not going to helm the direction but he will be the producer along with his daughter Nidhi Dutta. It will be directed by Anurag Singh who has been behind films like Kesari and Jatt & Juliet.
Recently, Varun Dhawan’s name was added to the star cast. It received much backlash on social media by the trolls. Many believed that Varun is only fit for a comedy role and this is too serious a film for him. Trolls took to his overreacting performance in films like Judwaa 2, Dilwale and Main Tera Hero. But there were some who welcomed this announcement and his fans are surely excited with this news.

As far as Varun Dhawan’s past performances are concerned, he has played many roles that have been in a lighter shade and did not depict much nuance. But it can not be missed that when he is working with the right director he can show some great potential. His versatility could be seen in Badlapur and October. Shoojit Sircar tapped into such emotional depth in his character in October that it received much critical praise, even if the film didn’t do well at the box office.
