Reema Kagti known for her direction and writing for films like Talaash, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., Dil Dhadakne Do, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and many more – is now bringing us Superboys Of Malegaon. It is the brainchild of Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti herself. It is based on the real life story of Nasir Shaikh. It covers the heartfelt tale of aspirations of indie filmmakers from a small town.
The film is written by Varun Grover and has a talented star cast of actors like Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, Shashank Arora, Anuj Singh Duhan, Saqib Ayub, Pallav Singgh, Manjiri Pupala and Muskkaan Jaferi. The film deals with the hardships faced by a novice filmmaker from an underprivileged background who dares to dream big but isn’t supported by anyone. Later he finds an aspiring artist who understands his vision and they must face extreme hardships without losing hope.

The film will also be exclusively premiering in the Toronto International Film Festival on 13 September. Later on it will also premiere in BFI London Film Festival on 10 October. Fans hope that the makers get the credit they deserve for bringing the story to life. It will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video from January 2025 for the viewing of the masses. If the story is handled with nuance it can doubtlessly win hearts for its true to life depictions and alive of life vibes.
