The suspected militants were killed during an operation conducted by security forces at Hathlanga village of Uri.
Police said one militant was killed in an encounter that started on Saturday morning, and the other was killed in subsequent firing.
In a post on X, police said search operations were underway.

“Encounter has started between terrorists and Army & Baramulla Police in forward area of Uri, Hathlanga in Baramulla district. Further details shall follow,” the J&K Police said in the earlier post.
While Hathlanga is close to the Line of Control, police have not given any details on whether the militants were part of any infiltrating group.
