The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has called for a detailed action taken report regarding the stampede at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the premiere of “Pushpa 2,” which led to the tragic death of a 35-year-old woman, Revathi, and left her son hospitalized.
The NHRC, after considering a complaint from advocate Rama Rao Immaneni, directed the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, to assign a senior-ranking police officer for a thorough inquiry into the incident.

The officials have been instructed to take appropriate actions and submit a detailed report within four weeks.
The complainant accused the police of resorting to a lathi charge and failing to make necessary arrangements for actor Allu Arjun’s arrival, which allegedly contributed to the chaos and loss of life.

The NHRC has emphasized the need for accountability and has also noted the absence of a functioning Telangana State Human Rights Commission due to vacant positions.
As a result, the matter has been referred to the Hyderabad CP and Telangana DGP for a comprehensive investigation.
