Truck in Rajasthan no-entry zone runs over policeman trying to stop it

JAIPUR: A 54-year-old Rajasthan Police head constable was run over Tuesday morning by a truck that had entered a ‘no-entry zone’ at Didwana 22-mile junction in Dausa district — a spot notorious for similar accidents due to heavy vehicles ignoring traffic restrictions.
Head constable Parsadi Lal Bairwa signalled the truck coming from Dausa to stop, but the driver hit and crushed him before escaping, according to police. Bairwa suffered severe head wounds and died on the spot.
“Bairwa is survived by his wife Manju Devi, a homemaker, and six-year-old twins Gagan and Pari,” circle officer Dileep Meena said. Gagan performed the last rites at their ancestral village in the afternoon, with police giving a guard of honour during the cremation.
Cops have launched a manhunt for the driver, who abandoned the truck 2km away near Bagwala ki Dhani and escaped into the hills. An FIR has been filed, and teams are working to arrest him.
Didwana 22-mile junction has been the site of similar crashes. In Oct, a lorry entered no-entry zone and collided with a bus, killing five.
