Travis Kelce knows the Chiefs overcoming their offensive woes will not be any easier moving forward, as he called Rashee Rice’s leg injury a ‘huge dagger to me.’
The severity of Rice’s leg injury is unknown, while Kansas City has not ruled out an ACL tear for the receiver who was emerging as Patrick Mahomes top target on the outside.
The injury occurred after Mahomes threw an interception against the Chargers on Sunday to Kristian Fulton.
When trying to tackle Fulton, Mahomes missed and collided with the leg of Rice, who stayed down in pain on the turf.
‘On the offensive side of the ball, we’ve got to get rolling, man,’ Kelce said on ‘New Heights,’ ‘And it’s not going to be any easier seeing Rashee (Rice) go down during the game. I just love the way that guy was playing the game of football, how he was attacking every single day in practice.’

Rice’s timetable for a possible return has not been revealed and he could be out for the season
‘Sometimes you just root so hard for the guys that do it the right way, and Rashee had been doing that, man. It was a huge dagger to me when I saw him go down.’
‘Outside of that, found a way to get the ball in the end zone late, running the hell out of the ball. Our offensive line is our biggest weapon right now, those guys up front are f***ing paving the way, tight ends included with Noah Gray and my guy J (Jared) Wiley coming in, wide receivers doing their job, and the run game.’
‘You’ve gotta find a way to win ball games, and sometimes it takes those little things that don’t get the highlight all the time. Wide receivers going in and digging out safeties for an extra four, five yards. Running backs running their tails off, getting those extra two, three yards.’
Kansas City has not announced any timetable for a possible return for Rice.
Kelce himself knows he has not had the same level of production that he usually has through four weeks of the NFL season.
Taylor Swift’s boyfriend has averaged less than 40 yards per game and has yet to score a touchdown this season.
