Tommy Fury’s return to boxing is CONFIRMED as former Love Island star agrees bout against ex-UFC fighter… just weeks after ‘pulling out of I’m A Celebrity for a more lucrative opportunity’

Tommy Fury will make his long-awaited return to boxing in January, it’s been confirmed.

The former Love Island contestant has not stepped foot inside the ring since his controversial win over YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI in October last year.

Fury had been tipped to make an appearance on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! but reports claimed he pulled out for a more lucrative offer.

Now, it’s been confirmed that Fury will return to boxing in the new year to take on former UFC Darren Till at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester.

Till will prove to be a formidable opponent for Fury despite only having one boxing fight to date and having not fought in the UFC since 2022.

Speaking on the bout, Fury said: ‘It feels great to, finally, say that I am back! I have been out of the ring far too long, I’ve been getting itchy knuckles, and so I am thrilled to be able to announce my return.

‘This is extra special as I am the A-side and headlining a massive event in my hometown and in front of my fans, at Co-op Live.

‘Till had a good UFC career but he’s stepping into the boxing ring now, against a proper pro, and he will quickly realise that he is out of his depth, and this is not the game for him. I plan on dealing with Till in conclusive fashion and then chasing even bigger fights in 2025.’

In a much blunter preview to the fight, Till said: ‘January 18 is my time, my night.’

Fury remains unbeaten, having won 10 fights, four by knockout. Neither he nor KSI have fought since they met.

Fury had initially been awarded a majority decision, with judge Rafael Ramos’ scorecard reading 57-57, but it later transpired that it had been added up incorrectly and the verdict was amended.

Till, meanwhile, made a return to combat sports as he took on mixed martial artist Mohammad Mutie in the boxing ring in July, which he won via decision.

The Liverpudlian remains one of the biggest British stars to have ever fought in the UFC – despite never winning a title.

His impressive run in the UFC through 2017 and 2018 saw him earn a title shot against at-the-time champion Tyron Woodley.

However, Woodley breezed past Till and the English star went on to win just one out of his last five fights in the UFC.

Mams Taylor, Co-President of Misfits Boxing, said: ‘We are starting 2025 with a serious statement of intent!

‘Fury vs. Till is an absolute banger, one of the biggest crossover fights that can be made, and it will set up the X Series for a record-breaking year.

‘The build-up to this is going to be compelling, it could get personal, and the fight will be one of the most brutal we have ever seen on Misfits. Get your tickets now!’

Kalle Sauerland, fellow Co-President of Misfits Boxing, said: ‘Fury vs. Till is an absolute Misfits Boxing blockbuster.

‘On January 18, at the brilliant new Co-op Live, it is Manchester vs. Liverpool – and it’s going to be electric. Fury knows victory sets himself up for a giant year but Till steps into the Misfits Boxing ring for the very first time, straining at the leash and ready to take a giant scalp.

‘We expect an incredibly red-hot atmosphere in the arena with a big undercard to be announced shortly.’
