Sarangapani Jathakam

Director Mohanakrishna Indraganti and producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad have always made the right moves. ‘Gentleman’ and ‘Sammohanam’, starring respectively Nani and Sudheer Babu, were successful. Their third collaboration promises to be a film with rapid-fire humour at its core. It is titled ‘Sarangapani Jathakam’.

Priyadarshi, after playing diverse roles in films like ‘Balagam’ and ‘Jathi Ratnalu’, is essaying the character of a typical Indian man who is blinded by fatalism (accentuated by quackery in the name of palmistry) in this comedy entertainer. Pulled apart by an irrational mindset and the demands (?) of his love interest, he is up for unexpected twists in life.

While Sridevi Movies has its task cut out (with its history of giving what the family audience want from its movies), Indraganti has set his eyes on appeasing the audience by telling them jokes that would remind them of the brand of comedy immortalized by Jandhyala.

The film can be expected to have tapped the talents of both Priyadarshi and heroine Roopa Koduvayur, both of whom are script-conscious. As it is, the Title poster projects ‘Sarangapani Jathakam’ as a quirky comedy that is wholesome. There is also a twist in the tale, if Priyadarshi’s perplexed demeanour is anything to go by.
